Trainee Recruitment Programme

Our next trainee positions will be for 2026. Applications will be accepted from 1st June 2024 – 1st August 2024.

We normally recruit 2 future solicitors each year. This can either by as part of a training contract, SQE or as an apprentice solicitor. If successful we can help you decide which route is best for you.

Your training contract will focus on developing your hands on experience across our different specialist areas. We’ll support you in deciding which direction you’d like to take your career with us.

We make it a priority to ensure you’re well looked after during your training. Our proven track record of retaining our qualified trainees reflects this. Many of our partners initially joined us as a trainee.

All our trainees have received their Practising Certificates and we have enjoyed celebrating their success with them.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please email Gemma Freeman at g.freeman@laceyssolicitors.co.uk.  Gemma will then send you our application form and details of completion deadlines.

  • “As a growing and highly regarded firm, Laceys has provided me with a fantastic start to my career. My training principal worked with me to form a training programme that not only suited the firm, but also took my interests into account. I experienced comprehensive training in every seat which gave me fantastic grounding to know the area I wanted to specialise in when qualified. I would certainly recommend Laceys to anyone looking to work in this profession.”

Ella Gould, Solicitor - Corporate and Commercial / Employment

  • “Laceys has provided me an excellent start to my career. My training contract was well structured but also flexible as I was able to choose the practice areas I wanted to gain experience in. I worked closely with a number of different partners and being able to discuss their practice areas with them in depth helped me decide the practice area I wanted to specialise into. The level of support I received throughout my training contract exceeded my expectations and since qualifying the level of support has continued. I look forward to progressing my career with Laceys and would recommend training with Laceys to anyone starting their legal career. ”
