Intellectual Property

For many organisations, their intellectual property is one of their most valuable assets, increasing the amount they are able to charge for their goods and services and placing them above their competitors. After spending considerable time and money in growing your name and business, it is only logical that you want to protect your brand, designs, inventions and other intellectual property rights.

The more that you do to protect your intellectual property, the more valuable it becomes (making it a greater asset for you and any potential investors, partners and/or anyone looking to buy your business in the future). It also offers you the comfort of knowing that you can enforce these rights against anyone looking to use your intellectual property without your permission.

We can help you to maintain and protect your intellectual property portfolio (including your trade marks, designs, patents and copyright). We are able to identify the rights that you have, whether and how you can register or otherwise protect these rights, and how you can exploit your intellectual property through licensing it to others in the UK, EU and further afield.

Trade secrets and confidential information are also intrinsically linked to intellectual property. Laceys are experts in drafting non-disclosure agreements and advising on the protection of such information to help ensure that it stays secure and confidential.

We are also able to assist where others are using your intellectual property without your consent, setting out your remedies and options to you in order that you can make an informed decision about how to deal with these third parties. On the other side, we are able to help businesses in respect of any claim that they have infringed the intellectual property rights of another organisation.

For any further advice on Intellectual Property please contact one of our team today to see how we can help.

Laceys are recognised in the Legal 500, an independent guide to leading law firms in the UK, for their Intellectual Property expertise.
