In order to qualify as a solicitor, in addition to either a degree, usually in law, or membership of the Institute of Legal Executives, a trainee has to find a position with a firm of solicitors to undertake a Training Contract. This period provides the trainee with hands on experience in the law which supplements the mainly academic knowledge gained so far.
The Training Contract period gives time for the trainee to explore some of the different Departments of a firm and decide which specialist area to choose. Laceys has always recognised the importance of training potential new solicitors for the changing legal environment. The firm provides two such Training Contracts for talented trainee solicitors.
In addition to the working experience the firm has developed a keen sense of well-being for our trainees who receive that degree of special treatment which a firm of our size is able to offer. Here you will not be lost in a crowd. In addition you have the opportunity to work on the South coast in the buzzing environment that Bournemouth supplies.
All our trainees have received their Practising Certificates and we have celebrated their success with them. In addition we hope that our trainees will stay with us after qualification.
We normally recruit 2 trainee solicitors a year starting in September and applications are dealt with during June and July just over one year before the start date. In addition we also provide training for Legal Executives in various departments of the firm.
Our next available trainee positions will be for 2014 - applications will be accepted between 1st June 2012 - 31st July 2013.
